The Michigan Daily was the first publication I ever wrote for. It sparked my interest in writing for purposes other than required academic papers and has taught me a lot of valuable skillsI included a link to the archive of all the articles I have written for The Michigan Daily

As part of the requirements for Writing 220, we contributed to the Minor in Writing blog. We were given prompts to follow weekly and participated in a competition called Blogging Bonanza.

This semester I took a minicourse in which I developed a blog and posted to it weekly. Because of how short the class was, in combiniation with time it took to develop my voice and purpose, the blog as a whole is not something worth showing off. There is one post in particular, though, that I really liked and wished to share.

During my junior year of high school, we were assigned a paper that was meant to be partially a research paper and partially a personal reflection, hence the name "I-Search". I wrote mine about my phobia of needles. It is one of the writing pieces I am most proud of.

If I Don't Wear Pink, Can I Still Be A Princess?

In my Communications 121 class, I wrote a critical analysis paper about the messages sent to little girls in a Disney Princess commercial about gender roles and femininity.
